I love portrait painting.
I try to capture the spirit of the sitter whilst retaining a simplicity and delight in the process.

I come from a family of designers and artists and I have enjoyed sketching since my early childhood. I studied at Central School of Art and Design, and after gaining a degree in product design, I was employed by a design consultancy in London.

In the early 1990's I worked in Tokyo, immersing myself in the culture. Whilst I was in the Far East, I also travelled through China, Tibet, Indonesia and Vietnam and was able to gain valuable experience sketching and photographing over this time. On my return to England, I continued sketching and began designing and creating products for the home. I then decided to concentrate on developing my skills as a portraitist, studying figure drawing and oil painting.
I am married with three children and live in Greenwich, London.
